Eric Auth: Growing with Abound Health
At Abound Health, we strive to create an environment that encourages growth and development so everyone can reach their full potential. We like to call this a “growth mindset”. This is the belief that skills and abilities can be developed through hard work, dedication, and persistence. At Abound Health, we nurture this mindset by providing resources to our staff and encouraging them to grow within our organization.
QP Eric Auth is a shining example of what can be accomplished when one has a growth mindset. Originally from south Florida, Eric soon discovered his passion to support others in their journey at an early age. After moving to North Carolina, he changed his major to social work and sought out relevant client field experience.
That’s how he ended up at Abound Health, working as a DSP (direct support professional). While there Eric had the opportunity to learn more about the field of mental health and interact with people with disabilities—something that had always been close to his heart.
In his Senior year of college at North Carolina State University, Eric was encouraged by his QP to apply for the Abound Health Promise scholarship. This award allows current Abound Health employees grow their skillset, as well as become a more well-rounded professional. Eric received the Abound scholarship and then graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
Upon graduation, Eric was offered an internship with the Abound Health Advocacy team. He assisted with the organization and execution of many advocacy projects and events, including Intellectual Disabilities Awareness Month. Shortly after his internship, he was offered a position as a Qualified Professional and now works within the Raleigh community.
Eric’s story is both inspiring and uplifting, reminding us all of the importance of looking towards the future. It also speaks to the power of embracing a growth mindset and never giving up in the pursuit of our dreams. We look forward to seeing more success stories like Eric’s in the future!
In his spare time, Eric enjoys exploring the outdoors with his girlfriend and dog Bohdi.
