Swindell treats his position as a calling, not a job. His focus has always been on how he can positively impact the lives of the clients he serves. He is a multi-faceted staff who has been with Abound for over 20 years. Swindell is one of, if not the most, dependable and trustworthy staff Abound has. He has been instrumental in referring quality staff over the years. If only we could have about 100 Swindells. He is truly an asset to the Abound family.
– Swindell Coley, Direct Support Professional

The question in the back of Ann’s mind in every major decision she makes for Abound is: “Where is the client’s voice in this decision?”

“To treat others the way I want to be treated is a principle I govern my life by, and actively listening to others is one of the best ways to all people. Not being heard makes one feel not respected or valued. I firmly believe in treating all people, no matter their abilities, with respect and value! This includes having people we serve and support at the table when our Human Rights Committe convenes to review rights issues and at the Quality Assurance committee to review the quality of services. We want to hear their perspective, how they feel we are respecting and valuing them as people & suggestions to help our organization become better at empowering them!!!”
